Description

Winemakers Notes
We have crafted this wine from a single block of fruit from Gisborne. This region was chosen as its warmer climate allows us to achieve positive flavours in Sauvignon Blanc at lower ripeness levels. The fruit was harvested at a mere 19 Brix and then cool fermented with an aromatic yeast strain. The wine was then prepped for an early bottling.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Very pale in the glass in its youth. The colour will deepen slightly with age.
Bouquet: The nose is typical NZ Sauvignon Blanc. It is a delightful melange of gooseberry, nectarine and gentle herbal notes.
Palate: The palate is light and crisp, full of fresh fruit character with just a touch of residual sweetness and impeccable balance.

Cellaring
 Like all NZ Sauvignon Blancs, we believe that this wine will show best in its youth, through to the medium term.
 
Food Matches
Young Sauvignon Blanc is a very refreshing aperitif. It is also a great accompaniment to seafood dishes, especially mussels, oysters and squid.

Brilliant as an aperitif, or with fish, other seafood, poultry or pork.
