Hi,
You're receiving this email because {name} thinks the "Metals and Gravels" SV Hawkes Bay Merlot Malbec 2013>SORRY ALL GONE< would interest you.
Winemakers Notes
Our 2013 SV Merlot Malbec is an assemblage of 78% Merlot from the Gimblett Gravels and 22% Malbec from the Red Metals. Each parcel was separately barrel aged for 12 months – about 10% of this was new oak. Hawkes Bay had a dream vintage in 2013 and the fruit that we harvested was in superb condition. The components looked superb all the way through the aging process and this shines through in the finished wine.

Tasting Notes
| Colour: |
The colours of the 2013 Hawkes Bay wines are superb. A deep core running out to a bright purple rim. |
| Bouquet: |
The Merlot provides lovely black doris plum aromas and the Malbec adds delicious ‘wild berry’ undertones. |
| Palate: |
At bottling this wine was full of youthful vitality. Firm yet fine-grained tannins balanced by loads of juicy black fruit in the mid palate. |
Cellaring
Already approachable, but we expect this wine to cellar for a number of years.
Food Matches
Rounded tannins and ripe berry flavours make this wine a great accompaniment to many meat dishes such as lamb, venison, beef and game. Many rich sauces go well with this wine, as will roast garlic and vegetables.
Suggested wine list description6
Masses of wild black fruits coupled with savoury hints and deliciously spicy oak.
Independent Reviewer’s Comment
“Ripe black plums and cassis, the palate is rich with fleshy plump rounded seductive fruit and maximum intensity”
