Fiano hails from Southern Italy and has a small and enthusiastic following here in New Zealand. This wine is grown in Doug and Delwyn Bell’s vineyard just outside of Gisborne city. The block was harvested on 3^rd April (OK, it’s not a block – it’s just a single row) and yielded 650kg. The juice was fermented and aged in two old barrels and was bottled on 19^th December 2017.

Acid	6.4g/L
Res sugar	3.7 g/L
pH	3.34

Tasting Notes

Colour:	Pale in the glass at bottling, but will slowly deepen with time.
Bouquet:	A delightful melange of citrus pith, honey and a touch of hazelnut.
Palate:	This is a clean and refreshing mid weight wine, backed with the savoury firmness that is so typical of Italian Fianos.

Cellaring:  Already approachable, but will cellar happily into the medium term in a cool environment.

 
Food Matches: White meats, white sauces and pasta.
