Trophy for Classics Viognier 2010!

At the star studded awards dinner for the New Zealand International Wine Show, the Trophy for Champion Viognier was awarded to our Classics Gisborne Viognier 2010. It's a wonderful award for a wine that's exceptionally good value - typically retailing for under $17 a bottle!

The judges said: "Fruitiness and fragrance are the key to this warm, rich spicy wine with rose petal, lime leaf, apricots, nuts and a seductive, almost ethereal texture." The Coopers Creek Viognier saw off three other exceptional Gold Medal wines that were in the Trophy Hunt - all them were were Hawkes Bay wines, which is another excellent region for this variety. Coopers Creek offers its own Hawkes Bay Viognier under the Select Vineyard range. The 2010 vintage is not yet released on the New Zealand market, but there will be a limited "Trophy Allocation" availble from selected retailers and our cellar door.
